Best App to Monitor Bitcoin Miners in 2026

One app for your whole fleet: Bitaxe to Antminer, Bitcoin to Zcash, at home or away. Here is how HashWatcher compares with other mining apps.

Get HashWatcher

If you are looking for the best app to monitor Bitcoin miners from your phone, HashWatcher is a strong place to start. It puts far more in one place than a basic monitor or a browser dashboard: a whole fleet view, real controls, alerts, reports and extras like a hashrate marketplace and solar automation. It works with SHA-256 miners on Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash and with Zcash Equihash miners. It reads your miners locally and gives you private remote access without port forwarding. It is also rated 4.9 stars on the App Store.

This guide covers those three reasons in depth. We won't name other apps. Instead, we compare HashWatcher with the tools most miners start with: the miner's own web page in a browser tab, and simple single purpose monitors.

1. More features in one app, and miners who rate it highly

HashWatcher is built so you never have to fill your home screen with IP shortcuts again. It covers most of what a home miner or small farm needs day to day.

Your whole fleet on one screen

The bird's eye view shows every miner with hashrate, power, temperature, efficiency, uptime and pool status, plus fleet totals at the top. Compact cards include a one hour hashrate sparkline color coded against each miner's normal baseline, so a drop stands out right away. Tap any miner for a detailed dashboard with charts, chip and VR temperatures, fan speeds and pool details. Adding miners is quick too, because HashWatcher can scan your network and find supported devices for you.

Controls, not just readouts

Where the hardware allows it, HashWatcher lets you act from the same screen. You can build and apply overclock tunes on Bitaxe and NerdQ devices and watch live how a tune changes performance, run the NerdQAxe dual pool feature, set hashrate and power targets on supported Braiins OS miners, change work modes and fan speeds on Canaan Avalon units, create schedules based on electricity costs or solar production, and make advanced pool changes. Avalon Q owners can also turn the miner on or off remotely and get a heads up when a fan looks like it is failing.

Alerts and reports that work while you sleep

HashWatcher can alert you when chip temperatures cross your threshold (set per miner), when a device stops hashing or loses its pool connection, when a miner sets a new best difficulty, and when a miner reports a block found. Some devices also report native overheat warnings, which HashWatcher surfaces. A nightly recap at a time you choose summarizes hashrate, temps and best difficulty across the fleet, and you can export daily PDF reports for electricity tracking and maintenance records.

Extras you won't find in a basic monitor

A few features go well beyond monitoring. Braiins Hashpower is built in, so you can rent SHA-256 hashrate on demand and watch your orders next to your own machines (see our Hashpower quick start). SolarWatcher uses live solar, battery, grid and home load data to step supported miners between Low Power, Eco, Standard and Super modes, with integrations for Victron VRM, Home Assistant, Enphase IQ Gateway, APsystems EZ1, EcoFlow, Solar Assistant, SolarEdge and Bluetti. There is a solo odds calculator, live Bitcoin and Zcash mempool views, iOS widgets, Lock Screen widgets, Live Activities, Apple Watch support and Mac menu bar stats. HashWatcher also powers the Braiins Deck desktop display, and your miner list is backed up and restored automatically when you reinstall or move to a new phone.

What other miners say

HashWatcher is rated 4.9 stars on the App Store and has more than 1,200 ratings across the App Store and Google Play. The app earns roughly a million store impressions a month. Reviews tend to mention the same things: one screen for a mixed fleet, easy network scanning, overclock tuning with live feedback, and remote access through the Hub. As one reviewer put it, "seeing everything hashrate, temps, power, efficiency on one screen in real time is a total game changer."

How this compares with other mining apps

A browser dashboard is great for one device. A basic monitor might cover one brand well. The difference with HashWatcher is breadth: monitoring, control, alerts, reports, energy automation and community in one app that works across many brands and firmwares.

2. Works with SHA-256 miners on Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash, plus Zcash

Most miner apps assume everything is a Bitcoin miner. HashWatcher understands that your fleet might be pointed at different coins, and in one case, running a different algorithm entirely.

SHA-256 miners on BTC, BCH and more

SHA-256 miners like Bitaxe, NerdQAxe, Canaan Avalon and Antminer models running Braiins OS, LuxOS or VNish mine whichever SHA-256 coin your pool is set up for. HashWatcher monitors them the same way either way. It shows the network difficulty for the coin a Bitaxe is actually mining, recognizes popular Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash solo pools and shows their logos, and its solo odds calculator shows your chances on both BTC and BCH with your current hashrate. Premium users can add DigiByte to the odds and price list as well.

Zcash (ZEC) mining on Equihash ASICs

This is where HashWatcher goes further than most. Zcash uses the Equihash algorithm, not SHA-256, and HashWatcher supports two kinds of Zcash miners. First, LuxOS miners mining Zcash, including the Antminer Z15 Pro. Second, Bitmain Antminer Z series machines on stock Bitmain firmware.

For stock Bitmain Z series units, HashWatcher reads hashrate, board and chip temperatures, fan speeds and pool details, and it can edit pool slots and reboot the miner. One honest limit: stock Bitmain Z series firmware does not report live wall power, so HashWatcher doesn't invent a number for it.

Zcash hashrate is measured in KSol/s, and HashWatcher never adds it to your SHA-256 TH/s totals. If you run both, the fleet total cycles between TH/s and KSol/s so each number stays meaningful. Zcash also appears in the solo odds view when you have a Zcash miner, and an optional Zcash mempool tile shows live blocks, the mempool and timing for the next block.

Supported hardware at a glance

HashWatcher works with Bitaxe family miners (Max, Ultra, Supra, Gamma, Gamma Turbo, Supra Hex), NerdQAxe+, NerdQAxe++ and NerdQAxe+ Hydro on ESP-Miner, NMMiner, Octaxe, Lucky Miner LV06 and LV08, FutureBit, Bitdsk, KBox and Hammer. It supports Canaan Avalon Nano 3, Nano 3S, Avalon Q and Avalon Mini 3, and Antminer S21, S19 and S17 series devices running Braiins OS, LuxOS or VNish, along with Braiins BMM101 devices. Firmware support includes Braiins OS, LuxOS, VNish, ZyberOS, THOR OS and Harlo OS, plus the Zcash miners above. See the supported miners list for the latest.

How this compares with other mining apps

A tool built only for Bitcoin has no reason to understand Equihash, so a Zcash miner either won't show up or its hashrate won't make sense next to your TH/s totals. HashWatcher keeps the algorithms apart and still shows you the whole fleet together.

3. Local-first monitoring with private remote access

The third reason is about trust. Your miners are on your network, and HashWatcher is built to keep it that way.

Your data comes straight from your miners

HashWatcher reads miner data directly from the devices you add, over your local network. No third party cloud is required to see your fleet. Optional cloud backed features are used only where they are needed, such as Hub connectivity, alerts, leaderboards and the community chat. Small touches help too. Device IP addresses and wallet addresses are blurred by default when you view or screenshot them, and you tap to reveal.

Check in from anywhere without port forwarding

Local first doesn't mean stuck at home. HashWatcher offers three ways to reach your miners remotely, all without port forwarding or dynamic DNS. The HashWatcher Hub is a small dedicated device that sits on your network next to your miners, good if you don't have an always on computer. The Desktop Gateway runs on a Mac or Windows machine that stays on. And if you run an Umbrel home server, the HashWatcher Gateway app turns it into a private remote bridge using an encrypted tunnel. You see the same dashboards away from home that you see on your couch. Learn more on our remote monitoring page.

How this compares with other mining apps

Getting to a browser dashboard from outside your house usually means opening ports on your router or setting up a VPN yourself. Some monitoring services go the other way and route everything through their cloud. HashWatcher keeps the default local and private, and makes remote access a simple add on.

Choosing the right miner monitoring app

If you run a single miner and are happy checking its web page, you may not need an app at all. Once you have two or more miners, mixed brands, a solo miner you want alerts from, or a Zcash machine in the mix, a dedicated app saves real time. HashWatcher is free to download on iPhone and Android, with optional Premium extras. Features vary by platform and device, and the app shows what each miner supports.
